Naedam September 28, 2007

Naedam is another cool boutique I found while roaming Second Life. I love the use of bright colors. One thing that amazed me is the fabric. It actually looked like fabric! The sequence tops that you can see just above really look like sequence. I am not sure how they achieve this but it looks great. They also had tank tops that looked really soft and lustrious. I have tried designing fabrics for Second life but I cannot get the same effect. It is going to take a lot of work and trial and error.

You can see some of Naedam’s designs here.

Past Virtual gashion Work September 21, 2007

Here is a picture of my first designs in Second Life. If you click here you can see mine as well as my class mates Fashion shows in Second Life from last years CAD class where we where first introduced to Second Life.

And below are my designs that I created in VF-pro.

Step One: Research September 13, 2007

Artilleri

Artilleri

My favorite boutique in SecondLife is Artilleri. A definite retro style, even the shop its self looks like an old diner.

A lot of the clothes while being very different all had a element of vintage or retro in them. My favorites being Last Call , Camie Cooper, and Artilleri. I found myself wishing these designers made these clothes in real life (opposed to second life). And maybe that will be a next step for them. I can only hope. It would be a great was to get your name out there since Second Life already has so many users and is continuing to grow in popularity.

Talking out its growing popularity, some of you may be aware of of the free e-mailed magazine JC report. Recently there was a issue completely dedicated to Digital life mainly Second Life. American Apparel, Nike, Rebook, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, and Dior have already been active in SL (Second Life).

Second life is defiantly bringing fashion to the next level. Technology has constantly changed the fashion world over and over. So be on the look out because virtual fashion is heading your way.

Hello world! September 7, 2007

I am currently a Textile and Fashion Technology major at Buffalo State College. This is the first year at my school that they have offered a virtual fashion course. I am using this page to post my journey through the virtual world and what I find there. This page will show my daily findings and what I learn.
